"Meeting the Needs of Our Transfer Students"
Changing enrollment patterns indicate the number of students who transfer from one institution to another is continuing to increase. There are distinct differences between the needs of first-year students and transfer students. This extended workshop will explore transfer student specific topics and discuss how intentionally designed transfer student orientation and transition programming augments more long-term success than a one-size fits all model. The workshop will include opportunities to discuss best practices, small group work to connect with other professionals striving to help transfer students realize success and resources for designing and enhancing transfer student programming and initiatives.

"Got Benchmarking Data? Now What?"
The Orientation Outcomes Benchmarking study has been administered at over 70 campuses with over 50,000 new first-year and transfer students responding during its five year history. The study covers a wide array of topics related to the outcome of orientation and students’ transition to college. This hands-on pre-conference OR extended session will provide attendees with tangible strategies for viewing, analyzing, and reporting out on benchmarking data.
